Our Spam Policy and Penalty

If you have been accused of sending spam, this page contains information about your rights, and our policies regarding spam offenses.

Commercial advertisements with e-mail Policy:
Unsolicited commercial advertisements are not allowed in e-mail, and will likely result in account suspension or cancellation.

Commercial advertisements are unwelcome in most Usenet discussion groups and on most e-mail mailing lists. Inappropriate posting may result in account suspension or cancellation. See the newsgroup or mailing list's charter for whether advertising is allowed or not. "Spamming," or sending a message to many different off-topic newsgroups, is particularly unethical and will be treated as such.

Sending a message, especially an advertisement, to more than five or six recipients, is by itself spamming unless the individuals have specifically requested to be added to a mailing list on that topic. E-mail is a person-to-person medium, not a broadcast medium.

Penalties for Abuse

If any users are found to be abusing our resources by sending spam or other unsolicited commercial emails, their account will be immediately suspended. The term of this suspension is based on the severity of the abuse, and the amount of harm caused. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone, for any length of time.

If your account has been suspended and you would like to have it released, you must first fill out our incident report form. If it is decided that your account may be released, you will be charged a fee of $150/hour for time spent on re-enstating your account, and any cleanup, maintenance, or repair that may be necessary due to damage caused by the infraction.
